Me again. This is a two parter. First, what is the "trim sender" used for (part#OMC Trim Sender 0984748 or 0983939). I have an 86 omc 4.3l cobra. When I took off my stern drive, I noticed that the cables were taped. I did not think much of it, but for some reason pulled the tape off the next day. I noticed that one wire was completely severed and the other is slightly cut. So, what does it do? Also, any idea where I can find one? I am not finding any. I believe I was missing my 0911793 SHAFT, Steering pivot from my outdrive/transom mount. Is that a big issue? I am ordering one now, but it seems like it would have to do with the steering.

See ya,
Steve

Re: Trim Sender

The "Trim Sender" is what tells the trim gauge on your instrument panel what to register. Do you have a trim gauge ??????

Those senders are NLA, don't forget, OMC went out of buisness over 10 years ago.
