Need info on Tecumseh

I have a Tecumseh boat motor model # T640-07A Any information would be helpful. Who makes this motor?

It was made by Eska. That number you have is the engine number. Eska primarily used Tecumseh engines. Given that engine number, it's a 1974 model, 7 horsepower.

Now, as for who sold it, that's another issue. It could have had any of a number of brand names on it, from Sears to Hanimex. Or, it could have been an Eska branded outboard.

None of that makes a lot of difference. Parts are available from www.certifiedpartscorp.com. They're very knowledgable about Eskas, and have a pretty extensive parts inventory.

Look for any other numbers on the outboard, particularly around the transom mount. If you can find any of those numbers, particularly a model number, we can tell who who sold it.

I have the model number from the transom mount. ESKA-6602-A47 It also had Kansas City, Missouri at the bottom of the plate.
