[1976 Phantom]

Hello, I have a question I'm trying to research, and plan out before I get back home from Iraq on a project boat I am buying. I want to move the control boxes for both the steering, and throttle about 3 feet forward. The engine Model # is 70473-M. it is a 15 foot 1976 Phantom fiberglass boat. I want to convert it from side console, to front steer. From what I have researched, as far as the steering, I will need to convert to the EZ Glide system (unless somebody has a better way), and at the minimum, need a new control cable for the engine control box. Are these tasks hard to accomplish for a guy with a medium understanding of mechanics, and an extensive tool box? I'm trying to go as cheap as possible, so any Idea no matter how crazy(but safe) will be entertained. Thank You all for reading

no major task as long as wiring harness is long enough. you can get an harness extention, but they are expensive.
