1966 9.5 sport win problem :O(

I have a 1966 evenrude 9.5 sportwin
Saturday we changed the point, plugs, and condensers.
Using a spark tester I had REAL good spark on the top plug
The bottom plus would fire only some times.
We even switched the coils and same problem.
The motor didn't run long either.
Do you have any ideas ?

Please give us more clear detail of what you did. I don't understand what you mean. Did the problem follow the coil switch or was the low cylinder not firing with either coil? Are the coils showing cracks in them? If they are they should be replaced. Other concerns would be the point gap, spark plug wires, fly wheel key way in position and flywheel properly torqued. A 9.5 will run as smooth on one cylinder as it does on two but would lack horsepower on only one. Let us know and Best of luck. Rick.
