Hi Folks
I have a Force 9.9 Serial no: OE104830. Could somebody help me with the year?
I have been using this motor to traverse the short distance to a moored boat and it runs well. In considering transferring it to another boat to use as a trolling motor, I have noticed that no water comes out of the thermostat housing while the tell tales work fine.
I've pulled out the thermostat which wasn't working but there is still no water coming out of the housing. Before I do anything drastic, I'd like to poke around with a bit of wire to see if I can unclog the cooling outlet.
Trouble is, I don't have a manual yet and have no idea in which direction to poke. Up, down, to the back wall or sideways?
There is also a lot of rubber inside the themostat hole and this may have been distorted by corrosion in the area. If so, it could be blocking the outlet.
Any tips would be very welcome.
