I am inheriting a 1986 Starcraft 1901 boat. When I was offered the boat I was thrilled but now am nervous and scrambling because I have to get it off the water by next weekend. I have never owned a boat or trailer - so I am looking for some advice.
The specifications that I see are that the 1901 has a center length of 18'6.5". So the first question is do I need a 18' or 19' trailer ?
I am getting a bit of a sticker shock at the cost of trailers. I have been trolling craiglist for used trailers but not even sure what to look for.... I don't want to end up getting something that will damage the boat but don't have a ton of cash to through around. Any golden rules ? This will be a freshwater boat only...
Any advice is appreciated - I have benefited from reading some of the other threads (i.e. backing up the trailer).
