Tried to flush my outboard with some 'Ear Muffs' last night. Could not get water flowing up! (Only to the side - on me!) The position of the water inlets is in an awkward spot and could not get a tight seal because of the slope and a ridge. Is there any trick to flushing a 1976 Chrysler 75hp 2 stroke? I had it on the lake 2 weeks ago and everything was fine. Don't think anything is plugged. I didn't run aground or dig it in sand! Am I better just to run it in a barrel of water?

If you used round muffs, round muffs don't fit this engine. Either trim them so they have to flat parallel edges or buy Chrysler muffs.

Thanks Chuckz, much appreciated. I didn't know those existed. Any idea where I can order them?
