We have had this motor since 2000 and the lower unit cracked when hit rocky bottom, then we had lower unit replaced in 2005. We usually run boat gently just puttering around. Ran excellent until the other day, when half throttle across the lake against some waves the motor killed. Could not restart. Engine will not turn over, battery is, then replaced the starter and solinoid tests good.
By phone contacted the person whom replaced lower unit says it may be a upper bearing in the lower unit. Motor will turn by hand backwards but not forward. Anyone 's opinion or advice?
