I have a 2003 Johnson 4 stroke 140HP engine that begins to miss at about 3100RPM's. I have pulled the injectors and attempted to clean. Also, I have emptied the fuel filter and found no water or contamination. The engine continues to miss badly. Could it be the fuel pump or a timing issue (I assume these engines have timing)? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 140HP Johnson 4 stroke problems

I know absolutly nothing about 4 stroke out boards. but I do know that you can not clean fuel injectors your self on a car. You can run seafoam or techron addative in a car and it will clean them up slowly in a car. If you did not winterize the motor and gas. Old gas will stick the injectors on a car. heck enough new cheap gas will eventually do that. some times they are damaged beyond unsticking. But injectors are very votage sensitive.. make sure your grounds are clean.. sorry can't help beyond that.
