Steering system ?'s

Right before hooking up the trailer and heading to the lake, I realized that my steering seemed to be frozen. Yeah, I should have checked weeks ago.

I have a dual helm system, both being rack/pinion. I found that it was the 20' cable leading to the bridge.

So now I'm on the net trying to find a cable,,,and I have. However I've got some questions.

On some kits they show one rack with one or two cables. Some are rotary with or without feedback. Some print has said not to use as a dual helm system. Some seem to be only used with power assist.

I've searched the iboats threads trying to find one that breaks down the do's/don'ts and what system does what. I don't have power steering and have never had any problem with torque steer problems. I'm replacing it with what was originally in the boat, so I should be fine.

Just would like to know what system should be used for its application. Thanks..........SS

Re: Steering system ?'s

see if you can find any #'s on the sheath of the cable, that should be replacement #, or iboats can find the right one with the #. i don't know what you have for a boat, but, i've been going with the single cable rotary no feed back system in all my replacements.
