well i pulled the carbs and cleaned them on my 1990 48 hp engine..didn't really notice any gunk that could have caused my engine not to run above idle..put them back on. I commented to my father-in-law that if i didn't have dirty carbs maybe my fuel pump may be bad and i may have to order a rebuilt kit for fuel pump.

Well he backed out the screw on fuel pump that has the screen inside it and managed to break the plastic part that holds the threads on the fuel pump housing.from what i can tell its FUBAR.

So i will need to order a new fuel pump. After doing some research Ishopmarine.com ,Shopevinrude.com and Iboats store my Part number is Johnson 0433387. My question is it says it is fuel pump assembly. Is this a complete fuel pump ready to bolt on and go? Or will i need to order a repair kit too?

Iboats marine store has it listed for 25-55 HP 1976-89 ( non VRO )

Replaces OEM part #

* OMC 438556
* OMC 433387 <---------this one
* OMC 432451

* OMC 395713
* OMC 394543
* OMC 388268
* OMC 385781

If i order this http://www.iboats.com/Sierra_18_735....271380--**********.841498069--view_id.174141
should i be ok ????????

Fuel pump assembly should be the complete pump.
The one on Iboats should work also.
If it were mine i would stay OEM...;)
