Antenna for radio question

Hi All

The radio/cd palyer on my 2005 2052 has never been hooked up so my question is: would you install a new intenna or piggy off the VHF intenna?
Not sure about this.

The VHF on transmit would put 25 watts of FM into your radio, smoking the circuit board. You need to have a separate antenna. The little wire antennas are cheap and work OK. They sell these for $8 and can be mounted under the cabinetry, out of the way.
