1996 88hp Evinrude Motor
Considering buying a used boat with a 1996 88hp Evinrude Motor. Out of the 4 cylinders one has no compression. Would this be an expensive purchase?

I would have to be getting a heck of a deal to get myself into that without pulling the heads to have a looksee at what the issue at hand is. That is just my own opinion though. May be simple, may be drastic. Is the price worth the risk?

A huge gamble could be as simple as a decarb though not likely with 0 compression.could be a total rebuild.unless you love a project walk away.
