surprise in gasket kit?

...just picked up a Bombardier gasket kit for my '97 Ficht150. It comes with flat, paper gaskets to go bwtween the throttle bodies and the intakes where the original deal was a couple of elaborate o-ring style gaskets. I was womndering why the change...cheaper?...better?...both?...anybody know?

Likely one of many changes to the highly erratic first-run Ficht. I would install new stock items without question on that particular engine....don't be afraid or confused with any changes. If it doesn't change any rigging length, use it.
