I recently read a boat test on the Four Winns 200 H. In this test the top speed was only 45 MPH...WTF.(maybe they the bimini up)
I have the 2007 model with the 5.0 MPI Alpha 1.62 turning the factory Vengeance SS prop.(13.75 X 21p). At 22 hours on the engine we, my brother inlaw and I, did several highspeed test runs to check the top speed.
We ran in several directions to compensate for any wind or current factors.
Weight: 375 Lbs passengers
fuel: 1/4 tank
top speed 54.5 MPH as per garmin gps.
I had 51 MPH on the first run and then adjusted the trim up to its max run setting then adjusted slightly higher to get 54.5. I do not recomend this prop as it tends to easily ventilate and does not perform much (if any) better than the stock aluminum. I traded the Vengeance in for a 14.75X21P Mirage and.. WOW.. what a difference. Whithout the prop slip from the vengeance, the boat snaps on to plane much faster, I have far better trim adjustment and much better fuel economy. The fuel economy is an estimate based on fuel used in my boat vs fuel used in my brother inlaws 4.3 carb Glastron 195 sx.
At first he used slightly less fuel than me after a long days run but after I switched to the Mirage, I used much less than him.( we fill our tanks afterward to see how much we used) BTW the Glastron does 51MPH (GPS) with only a 4.3 carbed Volvo hmmm......
I have not yet done a speed run with the Mirage.
