i just bought my first boat tonight it ha 35 hp 2 stroke evinrude on it model number E35ELCSM and a serial number of E0003336 i have no idea whay year this thing is any help would be appreciated. it on a 1977 lund boat one pf the previous owners converted it from a tiller to a trimmer motor. i need to get arepair manual for it. the motor just screams when it is in neutral first thing i am going to look for is a vacum leak somewhere.

Looking it up for yourself is good training. Or we could do it the easy way and just tell you it's a 1980. CS=80, 1980. Now you can look it up and find out how we know that.

that helped out a lot thanks for the link also i had gone through the faq section and looked beforre i posted but i did not see that thread. i looked all over the internet last night for about 2 hours. but thank you again now i can get my repair manual ordered. the only part of the model number that don't make perfect sense is the design feature code EL they have just E which is for electric start but not just a plain L or EL.

L is for long shaft. 20 inches from top of transom to the av plate above the prop. you cqan go to kencook.com for the OEM service manual.
