I have damaged lower unit on my 1994 175 hp and have access to a 2003 lowerunit- model above.
I think they are interchangeable except for the upper drive shaft and the water pump housing and the highth of the shift shaft.
Any other items I need to watch out for to convert the 2003 to fit my 1994?
the 1994 seams to have an "O" style lower while the 2003 has style "M".
If above is correct, do I need to re-shim the lower drive shaft to pinion in the 2003 if I do not change it nor the gears?
