so the trim on this engine is not working so I want to change it myself. It seems like a very simple thing..remove the four screws, take the old trim motor out and put the new one in with its gasket -- right? or should I pay someone to do this for me?

any suggestions?

If you can get to all 4 screws it is that simple.

Im not sure if im 100 percent right, but I believe you hardest task will be taking the pin out that secures the ram to the trim motor. Some of them can be real b@stards, lol. You may need some penetrating oil or a propane torch to heat the outer casing up, allowing it to expand and slide the pin out, you may need a hammer and punch. You will also loose some fluid, so be sure to fill it back up. gl
