Default mercury 9.8 carburetor overloading

i have 1965 mercury 110 9.8 hp i cleaned out the carb. and now it runs until it overloads and floods out, i can tahe the fuel line off it will run great until it runs out of fuel. put the line back on it overloads again. can someone help me with this. digh. of carb. or something john

Your inlet needle is leaking, could be a bad needle or a bad float or the float level is wrong

With the carb top off the carb turn it upside down the lower float lever (which normal rides on the float spring but when upside down is now on the top) should be dead level or even with the other pin. The spring on the top of the float should stick out of the float 3/32"

i've adjusted the float and seat vavle and it still over loads with fuel .
float moves up and down fine .
is there a fuel adjutment screw that will cut the fuel down

is there any thing in it that keeps the fuel pressure down it seems to push it's way tru the carb.
