Forceby Mercury lower unit oil

My local Mercury dealer tells me that I can ONLY use Mercury Quicksilver lower unit il in my 40 hp Force, and it is only available in tubes. I much prefer to buy lower unit oil in bottles and use a pump (much neater) Can't I use any good outboard lower unit oil?

Welcome to iboats Sailor.<br /><br />Yes you can. Any brand you want. <br /><br />But don't use one labeled "TYPE C".
