15hp yamaha

hi,model 15sf sea.075630 only way i can crank it is to hold this spring loaded red button out let it go motor dies im new at boating lot i dont know but this seems weird thanksfor any help

sounds like you missing the emergency stop lanyard. that red button is a stop switch/emergency stop swith.<br /> the lanyard has a fork shaped plastic end that clips under it to hold it out and the other end clips to the operator.

rodbolt you nailed it bought motor on ebay guy said it was missing thought nothing about it until you said it thank you very much
