82 Mariner 90 HP Impeller change out

Can anyone give me the condensed version on how to drop the lower gearcase and change out the impeller on my 6 cyl mariner. I've got the manual on order, but its weeks away.

Go to the top of the page and do a search for impeller replacement. You will find a lot of info and maybe the answer your looking for so you can move on w/your repairs. If no answers go to your local library and check out a manual out for a few days.

These motors are simple to remove the gearbox, 6 nuts, one under the trim tab(remove that with a 1/2" socket. then the box will drop away. 3 nuts and a bolt for the water pump and presto, one impeller. Installation is the reverse but getting the shift shaft lined up can be difficult. Good luck.
