I took my 70hp Evinrude to a shop to have the carbs cleaned and lower unit oil seals replaced. Prior to taking my boat in I was able to get up to and sometime over 35mph. After picking the boat up and returning it 3 times because of hard starting, the boat slamming into reverse, and the wrong plugs being put in because this is the type they always use. I finally said this is the last straw and ask that the owner take the boat out and see exactly how his mechanic claimed to have repair my boat. The owner did just that and made some of the necessary repairs on the water. To make a long story short I spent money to take longer to plane and not get as much power. Could this possibly be a carb ajustment problem?

Welcome to iboats. Hold the dealers feet to the fire until they fix it. Sounds like he is willing to work with you. If you start doing things yourself until he is finished with it you may be blamed for the problems it is having.
