Year of Evinrude 4 HP

Just today I was given an Evinrude 4 hp. The serial number is 4006E-E08588. Can anyone tell me the year of this engine?

Just got a older 4hp Evinrude Model# is E4BRCNR and Serial # is C7144164 can anyone tell me the year of it and what spark plug and gap should I be useing

If you have question of your own dont hijack someone else's thread start a topic of your own!
However

CN are the date letters for 1982.

Plugs listed by Boatsetup.com are L86C or the suppressed version QL86C

Shop.Evinrude.com also list RL82C

gap is 0.030"

I think that has a points ignition not CD. If so there is no need for the inductive type of plug suppression, the "Q" types. The resistive "R" type will do.
