1970 -60 horsepower Johnson outboard motor

Motor was running when stored three years ago went to start it up this summer and I don't get any spark. The fuse is good. All connections are tight. It is the CD type ignition. Can anybody tell me what else I should look for. Thanks

Pull the flywheel and check all parts for rust/corrision

Thanks but I pulled the flywheel off and cleaned the magnet parts with some fine emery cloth.

i had the same problem,and found it to be that even though every thing was tight and apeared ok my motor would crank but not start.i pulled the ground cable off and cleaned the cable end and the surface where it bolted to the block and had no more problems.{went fishin}

He probably got it fixed by now. Question posted in 2005.
