Fuel & Oil Mixture

I have a 1960-70 Evinrude 80 hp outboard engine and I need to know the right ratio of gas and oil to mix. I don't hsve the exact year of the engine but the model number is 80683C and the serial number is E01456. Help.

It's a 1966 model. Someone else can help you with the fuel/oil ratio.

JohnnyRudes made before 1964 use 24:1 mix, Strauser24. All since then use 50:1.<br /><br />There was a period in the 80s when some initially called for 100:1 ratios. That caused troubles and OMC backed off and changed them to 50:1 also.

Addition to JB's; some models in the 50's were specified for 16:1, but it's my understanding later service bullets revised that to 24:1.
