My engine overheated real bad the other day. The alarm was shorted out and we didn't know so by the time i got it shut down the engine was steaming. I took it to my mechanic he put new plugs and a water pump impeller to get it running. Once it ran he noticed it was leaking around the bolts but the motor ran. The leak is very little. He is recommending me rebuild the power-head but the motor still runs.
The motor runs okay until I try to get on top of water. I run it up to 4500 -- 5000 RPMS but I'm not getting power to the prop. It seems like something is slipping however if i just let it ride for about a minute it gets on top of water and hauls *** like nothing ever happened. Does anyone have any idea of what it could be. I don't have the money to rebuild it right now so im trying to make her last a few more months until I can afford it.
