    My DIY Kicker Mount

It's been quite a long time since I've posted here on iBoats. This time around I built an adjustable transom mount for my 9.9hp kicker. I probably would have spent less money purchasing one but I just thought it would be a fun project. There's a link to a short video/slideshow of the build in...

Re: What is this hole for? Thanks for literally pointing it out for me pnwboat. I never even noticed that little bugger. And thanks Frank, for the part and for your time and tour of your Chrysler collection last night.

    What is this hole for?

On the starboard side of my 1980 115hp Chrysler is a hole that blows out hot exhaust. Can I plug this hole up or is there a reason why it's open. I'm only concerned because it's blowing directly onto my fuel line and it gets kind of hot under the hood. Thanks, Rick

    Measuring for new steering cable

Not exactly sure where I should post this question, but I figured I'd give you guys a shot. I'm having a some difficulty understanding the measurement points for ordering a new steering system. Maybe someone here can clear this up for me. I have an 18ft cuddy with a 1980 115hp Chrysler. First...

After 7 years ....I finally got her wet!

Paid 700.00 for a 1978 18 ft boat with a rotted floor, stringers and bulkheads. The 1980 115hp Chrysler was seized and the ignition was fried. The tilt trailer had bald tires busted lights, split dry-rotted rollers and a rusted winch with a frayed cable. It was a good thing I didn't know...

Transom cap for 1971 18' Starcraft Holiday

I'm currently helping a neighbor replace the transom on a 1971 18' Starcraft Holiday and was wondering where we might find a new aluminium transom cap? Not the ones in the top corners but rather the one that runs along the top of the transom. Thanks, Rick

What tach to use - 12 or 20 poles?

What kind of tach can I hook up to my 1980 115hp Chrysler, 12 or 20 poles? Would I just connect the pulse lead to one of the AC leads from the stator? I replaced the ignition module with one from CDI (115-3301) and I also replaced the regulator/rectifier with a rectifier from Radio Shack...

    Procedure for Changing Gear Oil

When changing the gear oil in the lower unit, the Seloc manual I have says to have the "drive train" in the verticle position. Does that mean the the engine should be tilted up all the way, making the prop shaft near verticle? The manual also says to open the vent screw. This lower unit has...

1978 18ft Grand Priz Floor Replacement and more

Not really knowing what we were getting into, my bro-in-law and I went 50-50 on an old boat for $700.00 ttl. It has a 1980 115hp Chrysler motor and trailer. We thought what the heck, let's get it. We towed it to my house since it was only a few blocks away. To make a long story very short...

    Spark Plug Wire Replacement

I need to replace my plug wires and I was wondering if there was anything special about outboard wires or is it ok to use automotive wires? I live in NJ and the nearest boat store is in Delaware but there's an Advance Auto parts store a few blocks from my house. If automotive wires are ok to...

    Start 115 Chrysler without L/U?

I bought a 19' cuddy, trailer and a Chrysler 115 for $600.00 a few years ago. The floor and stringers were rotted. I replaced them. The motor was seized. I rebuilt that (new block, head crank, pistons etc). I'm at the point where I'm ready to start the motor for testing, the problem is that...

    Chrysler 115hp Year?

Boating and forum newb here. I'll be asking numerous questions in the weeks ahead. FYI, I do have a manual - Seloc It's probably been asked a million times. What is the year of my motor? Model # 1158H0D Serial # 1479 I'll guess and say 79? Is there a table somewhere identifying what these...
