    Patching/tepairing small areas

I have several what I'll call gouges in the hull of my boat. Mostly along the keel area and one on the bottom of the transom. These are through the gelcoat but are not holes. There are no leaks. What is the best way to repair these? Keep in mind that I'll be working overhead. I thinking some...

    Marine additives and ethanol

In doing some research about ethanol and additives(Seafoam,Stabill, etc) I ran across this website. http://www.fuel-testers.com/e10_safe_gas_additives.html For those who are forced to use E-10 and don't want to make the problem worse by adding even more alcohol this is interesting reading. There...

    Cable buddy yes or no

Has anyone ever used a product called Cable Buddy? This is a kit that comes with a nut with a lube fitting and provides a way to lube your steering cable. I had to replace the steering cable on my last boat and I'd like to avoid that on my current boat. This seems like a good idea on the...

    Rollers touching or not?

I have an old bowrider that came with four 4" rollers that the keel sat on and two short two by fours at the rear at the outboard ends of the transom. This was an extremely hard trailer to load the boat on especially in any wind or current. (I launch and load by myself) I have since replaced the...

    Has anybody done this?

I have a bowrider and the battery and gas tank are under the rear deck. This makes it kind of a pain to service either. I was thinking about making a slide out tray sort of like a drawer to mount the battery and circuit breaker box to. It would slide out for service and slide back under and lock...

I've been reading through these forums for a while now and have seen some great responses and great advice, so here is my problem. I have a 1976 Lucraft bowrider. I want to mount my Motorguide W-55 trolling motor on the bow. The space where the bow light and the rails mount is narrow (4-5 inches...

    Know of any Lucraft links?

Does anybody have any pictures (factory advertisements would be great) of Lucraft boats? I recently purchase a 1976 Lucraft bowrider. I looked at the specs. on here and think it may be a 1977 since it is listed as 15.6 feet, has a walk thru windshield and a 70 HP Johnson. I'd like to restore it...

    What are these for?

The rubber plugs on the sides of the low point at the bottom of the transom, the bilge box, what are these plugs for. I'm guessing they're there to drain the area between the outer hull and floor but how does this area drain if the holes are filled with rubber plugs?

Bilge box plugs what are they for?

I recently purchased my first fiberglass boat. I want to mount a bilge pump. I see a box built in at the bottom of the transom that looks to be the place to mount one. The rear is the bilge drain hole. My question is: on both sides of this box are rubber plugs. They look like they may be there...
