    Anyone know the difference between these 2 part #'s? Mercury Parts Express shows that a 811635T 3 goes on my engine. However, there's one on ebay showing to be for the 4 cyl engine with EST ignition like mine that is part #811635Q 2. thanks

    Ok, so what's the trick?

    Went outside to put a new slave solenoid on my 2000 Merc 3.0 engine. Ten minutes job, right? After disconnecting the battery, I disconnect the wires from the solenoid and then get a 7/16 socket and begin to loosen the 2 nuts holding the solenoid on. That's when I notice I'm getting no where...

    Hey guys, quick question. My buddy just bought this boat. It has a Merc Alpha GenII and a MCM 5.0 carbed engine. I've got an '00 GenII drive. I'm using service manual 14. Will it be the same for his? His engine s/n is OW640960 and the leg s/n is OW837856. Thanks. :)

    Shift shaft stabilizer tool

    I realize tools are designed to make certain jobs easier, and with that in mind, my question is.... When reinstalling a gen II drive, is it absolutely necessary to use one? If not, does anyone have a certain trick they use in lieu of using the tool? Thank you.

    Hi guys. I've got an '01 Alpha Gen II. Yesterday I was draining the gear oil and noticed it was dribbling out so I stuck an air hose to the gear lube monitor hose and applied "light" pressure. Sure enough it finally spit something out and it drained on out. No water in the oil but it did act...
