I all I am slowly trying to work on my boat its a Winner Baronet. The Latest issue is trying to get the steering mechanism separated from the rotten piece of plywood. As you can see in the pictures:

I'm not wanting to bust the fiberglass at the transom so I need to be careful just not sure how to go about getting it loose and out, it doesn't look like I will be able to get it out in one piece too rotten.

I got the rear part of the floor up no foam there.
Now I need some advice on getting the transom out. I have chipped out all the fiberglass from around the edges of the transom.

Thank you for your reply and the correct terminology still learning it all. Got the splash well out.
Working with a hammer and chisel to cut the seams was a job but finally got it all. Next thing to tackle is the deck.

I finally got my first boat. I came across it on craigslist for a good price of $250 no motor was included but can wait on this till repairs get done. The hull is in good shape but the deck and transom need replacing. This is the start of my project I will work on as time and money will permit...
