    evinrude 140 losing power

    I have a late 70s evinrude 140 horse that started taking longer to get on plane and lost about 7mph in top speed. So far I have replaced the plugs,drained the tank and replaced the fuel, and replaced the throttle cables (they were sticky anyway). I am a novice and at a loss for what to try next...

    first boat/steering

    just bought my first boat a 1981 galaxie fish and ski...the steering is hydraulic and a bit tight. I would like to check the fluid and add some but don't know where too look, any ideas? also the guy i bought it from said the fuel mix is 40 to 1 for the 1980 Evinrude motor. Does that sound right...
