    I have a lower unit that looks to be off a 2000 - 2005 Yamaha and I would like to know How to identify it I have looked all over this thing and can't find a part # the only # I can find is a 67 stamped under the trim tab Thanks :confused:

    best prop for a 14' toon w/40hp rude

    I re-powered my 14' Pontoon with a 1986 40 hp Evinrude vro and need some advice on prop choice,It has a 11 3/4 x 17 on it,will this be OK,,, or should I go with something else,,,I have not had it in the water with this motor so I have no Idea on performance.Thanks:confused:

    Fuel pump leak???

    I have a 1986 evinrude 40hp VRO, When I pump the primer on the fuel line I get fuel leaking out of the rear of the fuel pump. I thought it could be a gasket on the pump,but the pump is plastic and I am not sure if it is serviceable Should I replace this or is it OK.Thanks :confused:

    1977 35hp vs 1986 40hp VRO

    I want to mount one of these motors on my 14' pontoon but before I spend the time and money,I would like to know which motor is best or has the least issues and is more reliable,and also the weight difference.The 35 hp looks lighter but by how much ? and whats the VRO stand for Virus Ridden...

    98 FICHT MISSING AT WOT but runs fine @3\4 throtle

    98 ficht 115 Wide open it will hick-up but if i back off just a bit it runs fine could this be the plugs??? do i need to index them or another issue Thanks peter

    thank for all the great info new prop on the way

    Finaly got the motor running with a rebuilt ECU and some software from EbAY thanks for all the help with that... anyway i got out to the lake and the boat seams to run great for about two hours until i bump a rock with the prop,so i lift the motor and have a look ...there is about a cm chip out...

    98 Evinrude Ficht 115 ECU ??? or not

    98 115 ficht has been sitting for about 2 years and did run breifly ,two weeks ago,out of water.i have no power to coils and no injectors firing,wich tells me that the kill switch or a fail safe sensor of some kind will not let the ecu give power or pulse to the coils or injectors.So i replace...

    NO SPARK Got Gas at fuel rail or presssure lines at motor Relays are all OK Checked all fuses eliminated kill switch anyother options or ideas are greatly appericiated and thanks to all the posts:confused::confused::confused:
