Got a 2006 Scout 175 Sportfish. Boat was new, 0 hours, with a Yammy 90 HP 4stroke.
I've got maybe 35 hours on it over the past 2 and a half months. At the beginning, there was no list. It ran straight as an arrow.
Now, not so much. It's pretty pronounced.

Had the motor trimmed up, fished, forgot it was trimmed, and turned the key.
It ran maybe 2 seconds dry 'fore I killed it.
Do I need to check anything in the engine? Impeller? Pump? Anything?
Or am I just being paranoid?
I'm looking at a Scout that has the problem of water backing in through the scuppers....that whole thing.

These are the two setups that I'm down to. The details:
Scout 175 with 90 horse yammy 4 stroke. Both 2006 models. No hours on either.
KW 176 with 90 E-tec. Both 2008. No hours on either.
The price difference between the two is negligible.

All things being equal, 90 or a 115? Is there any reason NOT to go to a 115 E-tec, aside from the obvious price difference?

I'm getting a little wary hearing about some of the problems smaller boats have had with scuppers taking in water. The Key West has come up one too many times for my liking, especially for a boat that's supposed to be of pretty good quality.
