Help, I still have yet to get my Carver running well. It has a '76-Ford 302 v8 and I have had it running twice but nothing consistant. I relied on you guys a lot last year for advice perhaps you will remember.
I have fuel but no fire. I tested the coil for voltage and I have 6-7 volts going...
Hi- my 76' Mercruiser 888 w/Ford 302 v8, is having trouble starting and I think it is the starter. Here are the symptoms;
1-Starter cranks engine but seems to hit a flat spot where it slows its cranking down and then gets past and speeds up again.
2-Battery voltage drops from 12.5 volts to...
I am having trouble getting my engine to fire. I have fuel (now) and spark but the spark seems very weak. I have 8-11 v going into the coil but at the plug I have a spark that is weak in my estimation. I did switch out coils but found same thing to happening.
Any suggestions?

I finally have the tilt under control and fuel to my carb but I think there is still a problem with the carb.
I have not got something right in my adjusting I am figuring or my float is stuck....This is a 1976 Mercruiser 888 with a Rochester Two barrel carb. I just rebuilt the carb...
I am having trouble getting fuel to the carb. I just replaced the fuel pump and felt sucktion prior to connecting the supply and carb lines so I know it was working.
Do I need to prime the fuel pump in some way? Mercruiser 888, 1976 Ford 302ci.
