please help with eska 7.5 problem

Re: please help with eska 7.5 problem Well I went by Steve's tonight and checked things out, he had cleaned up the carb and reeds (had found some Rtv holding one of the reeds partly open) and while there, I gave the rope a pull and heard a hissing.... nope, plug was tight. I removed the...

Threads in the end of the tiller arm on an 88SPL, what size and pitch?

Hello- I am re powering my old Glasspar with an 88SPL of early 90's vintage, and the threads in the arm are pretty rusty. My prior motor, a 45 Honda, used what looks like 10mm fine thread for the bolt that connects the stainless arm from the steering cable to the tiller arm. Is it 3/8" fine...

Panama City Beach- ramps and marinas?

We are traveling to Panama City Beach FL from the 24th to 30th- and are staying with family at a rented beach house. However, I know there is some fantastic inland boating to be had and am bringing the 15' Glasspar. But do not know at this point if there is room to park the rig (about 21' long...

Need a watersports buddy in GA!

Does anyone else have this problem? I have a boat, board, rope etc. My wife has NO intrest in learning to drive the boat what so ever. My kids are under 6. It is July 8th and I have not YET been on my kneeboard. I am 43 and not getting younger. I worry I won't be fit to do this much longer...

Panama City Beach, FL- anywhere to play with a small boat?

My family and I may be spending nearly a week at a rented house in PCB depending on the oil spill potential mess- we live in Savannah GA and may trailer our 15' Glasspar there- BUT...... are there any kind of inland waterways and such that are not restricted to idle speed, where we could play...

    Another free one coming home

I keep telling myself not to do this, but Saturday night my family and I were at the home of a co worker of hers, and their large, new home with the un finished yard. He had a nice early 80's Mako on a trailer and way in back was a V20 Steplift Wellcraft walk through with a patina of grime and...

    Converting Jonboat to stick steering

Hello all! A non boating friend of mine bought what he thought was a "turn key" rig with a 14' Jon boat and 25 Evinrude- after finding the lower was junk due to running without oil and the steering was locked up, I talked him into ripping out the home made (road signs!) aluminum console in...

Hello! I have had a buddy just re power his boat with a 150, and he is GIVING me his early 90's 20" shaft Johnson 90. Free but I pay the shipping- he is in southern coastal Maine, I am in Savannah, GA. He is going to strap it to a pallet at his work and will motor freight it down for me to my...

Here I am doing some mediocre kneeboarding!

A freind that boards a lot told me I am not that bad, but I need to shorten the rope to get me into the higher wake better for catching more air. What do you think? http://s170.photobucket.com/albums/u248/EricR_bucket/1969%20Glasspar%20runabout/?action=view&current=MediocrekneeboardingAug08.flv

Simple rear bench seat for an old runabout

After seeing how Tashasdaddy built the seats in his Sportcraft, and listening to my passenger's complaints of sitting on coolers or the floor of my '69 Glasspar, I decided to make some seating that could be easily removed. The boat being a product of the 60's runabout style would have...

    Old steel pontoons

I grew up in central MN in the 70's to mid 80's. On the lakes there were lots of pontoons, and at that time most of them were steel. The pontoons were pointed at both ends like a torpedo, the decks were simple plywwod with some indoor outdoor carpet on them, the railings were more like chain...

    Recommend a vest for me

I have been wearing one of the generic life jacket/vests, seems to be nylon over foam, for watersports. I notice the nicer ones aimed at watersports are neoprene and have larger arm openings than what I have. What do you advise? I feel the one I have constricts movement too much.
