    gasket recommendations

Anyone have a preference as to the gasket brand when rebuilding. Seems they sell a marine version which is substantionally more expensive than a typical gasket kit. Anyone know if there is a difference or did they just add on the boat tax.

Engine cylinder out of round question

So im trying to decide what I should do to my 1994 genV 454. I have everything pulled apart and have been taking some measurements. All crank journals measure within spec and should be good to go with a light polish. Cam seems good to go as well. My question is what to do with the block...

    454 head question

So it appears that my heads are in need of a rework. They are Gen 5 casting 10114156. I found a guy local who has what he claims are to be low mileage takeoff heads of the same casting number from warranty return vehicles. Supposedly the heads only need to be cleaned and can be used. If...

So I checked the valves on my 454 and am showing somewhere between .003 - .004 play. It appears this is out of spec for this model so I will need to do some headwork. Anyone know where to get a reamer .015 oversized so I can ream and install new oversize valves? Anyone ever tackled this before...
