Hi All. Working on my timing today. Looks like it should be 1 BTDC. I replaced the distributor and it seems to start up ok, but when I bring it to 1 BTDC it stalls out. SHould I adjust the idle or is my timing the issue? Maybe I didn't put the distributor back in properly?
I'm trying to set the base timing for my 3.0 Mercruiser and I can't seem to find the correct timing in my book based on my serial # OM384628 Any help on this?

I changed the gear lube on my lower unit today. I got about 45-50 ounces in it. It was hard to tell when it was "full"? I filled it until the vent plug started to overflow, then about 12 more ounces after that. Since there is no way to check it on this lower unit does that sound about right?
