My mercruiser 140hp i/o will crank but willnot fire

I NEED HELP WITH MY BOAT ITS A MERCRIUISER 140HP I/O IT WILL CRANK BUT NOT FIRE.HOW DO I GO ABOUT FINDING WHAT IT IS THAts causeing it not to fire?

You could go up to the Adults only sticky thread at the top of this forum page and check out the tech advice that Don S has posted there.

Of course you need fuel, compression & spark to fire..

She is turning over, so thats compression.

Now check fuel & spark.

Also in the sticky (which is also the same as the one title "DIY Information") there is a link for downloading the Mercruiser service manuals. These are the actual factory manuals that a dealer would use.

I HIGHLY recommend downloading the one for the engine and the one for your drive.

You do have the Safety Lanyard attached or Kill Switch engaged.
