Personally, I'd get a big crane and tow it up a waterfall. In gear of course.

Just wrap a pull-cord around the prop and put it in gear. Can't be too hard to pull start a Merc from the prop. :D

Come to think of it, my method is pull starting. Never mind.

push start it in the ice... it's thicker than water so you get less slip and you can make frozen beverages with the newly chopped ice

I would get the guide to spin the prop as fast as he could, then ram it into gear!

That's the redneck way!

It has been a long time since I last had to push start so I forget how the admiral did it. She was out of breathe tho.

I tried to get Mrs. QC to hoist the boat up the waterfall, that's how I know you need a crane . . .

Check your manual.

Don't be lazy or cheap.

Buy a manual.

And read it.

Put a tyre around the prop and tow it with the leg lowered and the motor fully turned to starboard. Fix up a gravity feed waterline from a garbage bin to the muffs. Get tow vehicle up to speed and then ignition on, dump her into forward. Once started, select neutral and leg up. Let her warm up, tyre off and then and back her into the ramp.

PS: Practice first on someone else's! :)

You are all incorrect.... you have to be on a lake with a slope on it and let it roll by itself downhill. Drop the clutch and away you go !!!!:D:D

Okay, I'm on a level lake and cannot just let it role down hill. So, where do I get a ... what? a TYRE? and tow whatever is around the prop with the... what lowered? the LEG? I think I get the rest of it. But I'm still so confused... I need a drink, a stiff drink. :D Thankfully it's still winter and I have time to figure this out.

Just put a second motor that runs on the boat, get it up to speed, and then drop the clutch on the first motor. Easy as pie.
