I posted about 3 weeks ago that we pulled the trigger on a new boat...
http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=350136

Well after the GF's emergency appendectomy, son got crazy sinus infection that required 5 doctor visits, purchasing a new tow vehicle, and several other setbacks she is finally sitting in the yard!!!!
We are taking her out on her maiden voyage today. Very excited a bit nervous as as we have not launched her or retieved her but that should not be a too difficult.

I will post pics of the first day out when we get back tonight.
Sorry if this post is a bit pointless but it is 645 am and I am up and excited and had to tell someone:)

Can't wait to see it! If I wasn't tearing my motor down today, I'd meet you out there! Maybe next weekend, if parts come in on time!:)

Now I know what you look like. Going to Ellie Rays?

Boat ran great, got awesome reviews from all our "boating friends" the GF is absolutley beside herself happy. All in all a wonderful maiden voyage to start off with. We even got to do a good deed, friend of ours ran out if gas on the way back to the ramp so we used the new boat as a tow truck and even that went perfectly!!!!

And possibly the best part was we got to catch this on our slow ride back!

Thanks to all those who helped us out in this process!!
We love our new red boat!!!!! Hooray!!:D

Re: Finally!!!!!!!

Nice boat, Nice Babe, and Beautiful country you live in!

Hilarious towing friend pic. I bet you wish there was some way to 'slam on the brakes' as you took that pic!

You might want to slap a Keel Guard on (the boat, that is...)

So, when does boating season end for you down there, if ever.

And, are you broke yet?

Congrats on your life,

Jim

Re: Finally!!!!!!!

Jdlouh you are absolutly right on the keel gaurd, that is the first thing that is being purchased for the boat. Had one on my last boat and it really helped alot.

As to boating season ending. Well we typically can go out well into October. Dressed appropriatly of course (light jackets and jeans) We like it that time not too many peeps about. Then we typically take December January and Feb off. Then march rolls around and we start again. Love it down here!

Not quite broke yet working on it though. Last month bought a tow vehicle and a new boat. Told the GF merry christmas this weekend:cool:

Re: Finally!!!!!!!

Where did you go Stubbs? That looks like the upper Suwanee, near Mayo, to me. Great pics!

jdlough, you can just about boat year round down here, if you want to brave the cold mornings. Fresh water fishing is good in December. I've been fishing out in the Gulf in February.

Very good Mr FL! We put in in Branford and then ran up tp the Troy Springs area. The pic was taken at the mouth of little Ruth Springs. Or what my son calls the "Secret Spring" Then we ran down to the Itchnetucknee and back.

I dont really fish much but the GF and I really like fall afternoons on the water. No one out and the water is just glass, too beautifull. Sometimes we take the Sea Nymph out to the gulf and go explore the salt marshes in the winter too.
