I hear ya on Jtexas, that would most likely work. I was thinking a weight or 2 at the end of the forks but I'm not for sure how that would work.

Fishing on a shallow rock bank in 6 mile creek, saw a spincast rod and reel in about 1.5 ft of water. Snagged the handle with my net and almost went over the side. :redface: It's a fair reach from the deck rail of a pontoon. Anyway it's a Daiwa Regal Z 2500C and seems to be in decent condition, thats including the rod. Of course it will need some serious cleaning and lubrication.
