OH DAMN

My bayliner looks like that...well its not in my truck bed though. How friggen fast was he going when that happend? My 185 weighs like 3700lbs it would take a lot to get it to do that Id like to think.

That Mercruser Skeg is DONE!

I witnessed a power pole crash a few years back where a severely drunk guy drifted off the road right into a pole. His pickup was about the same as the one in the photo. He was going 30 MPH when he hit the pole.

Immovable objects can do a lot of damage to vehicles.

Anyone else notice it appears no air bags deployed inside the truck?

I would also think the roof of the truck would be buckeled more.

I'm wondering how soon before that boat shows up on e-bay?

Guess they don't call em dodge rams for nothing!
But it is a novel approach at hauling both your boat and your camper.

Re: Tie downs are good

He was NOT going all that fast( LESS than 10 MPH i would bet) the steel pole would have done a LOT more damage to the truck

The right front wheel did not even move

It takes a lot more than a winch post to hold a 3500# boat back :) the trailer failed trying

i have folded up a few things

That's one way to avoid paying for the extra axles through the toll booth.

I keep focusing on the outdrive.Itseems to be way down in operating position. It seems to me that if it was in that position at impact that it would have hooked the crossbars or axle of the trailer and got broken off or terribly mangled.

Re: Tie downs are good

It looks to me like a very good Photoshop job. With the drive in the position it is in it would have hung on the trailer. The rearmost cooler is undamaged. The one prop fin we can see is undamaged, the front of the truck looks like the damage came from something other than the pole (looks like the Rad & fan are hanging outside the engine bay). Finally, the rear glass of the truck is crumpled. Rear glass shatters. Front glass crumples................

Whoa! I didn't even really notice that it had hit the pole! If this was indeed a Photoshop job, it's very convincing, because the truck is clearly weighed down from the boat. This is one of those things where you hope that it never happens to you, although some people aren't very lucky.
