Re: Quicksilver throttle

Post a picture of your control.
Too many different ones to guess what you have, especially if it's been replaced.

Re: Quicksilver throttle

Common problem on the Commander 3000. In fact, I'm having my 80s Commander 3000 replaced with a current model because of a balky throttle-only button. But, the only way we'll be able to help you identify your exact model is with a photo of your installation.

I threw my Quicksilver (Merc) model 3000 in the trash for the same reason. Now I have a 2000 butttttt it mounts on the outside with the cables visible and you may not want that on your Proline. I wanted the exposed fast idle that the 2000 gives you. I wouldn't rebuild one as on mine the insides were ALL worn out anyway. Just get another I guess.

Well that's neither I mentioned. If it's not on the site look at west marine. They show several similar Teleflex units. since TF makes the cables just seems a natural extension to make the upper cut controls too. Hang onto your wallet.

Here is the manual for that control

These pictures will show you the neutral only parts (#27) you just need to figure out if you have 28 or 28A
