I know people are always wondering how fast they should be going with certain rig ups. I thought we could make a sticky thread where people could post their specs and speeds so people can reference it. Either way, if anyone is interested...

16' Lund Aluminum Skiff, with 78' Evinrude 20 horse, with just me and a 5 gallon tank,

23 mph. GPS. Add a person or two and it drops right off!

Lets see some more!

1987 Cruisers Inc 297 Elegante.

29' (33' +/- LOA) x 10'8"

Twin 350 CI (270hp) Crusaders.

Cruises around 21-22 mph (just on plane)

Top end was 35 mph with 4 people, 3/4 fuel (200 gallons) and all the normal gear. GPSed, per say.

Just me 12+/- gallons gas. Top out at 50 GPS
Add wife and three kids...47

1985 Chris Craft Scorpion 186SL BR.

Mercruiser 305, 200hp. prob 170 pshp. Full tank, 450lbs of passengers. 45 mph gps wot, (with a beat up aluminum 19p prop) 4700-4800rpm

After Repower-383 Stroker SBC at least 350 pshp. Going to be turning 25p Mirage plus. MPH TBD, if my mechanic ever gets it in the boat. (I'll let you know) 0 MPH currently.

91 sundowner 225 with 5.8l think its a 15 p prop i do about 38 gps one person 3/4 to full tank[55 max gallons] at 4050 to 4100 rpm, wot

95 Mariah Z202 5.7 EFI Merc, 260 hp, 1 or 2 people full fuel and cooler, 53 per GPS at redline.

1996 Larson SEI 215 W/220 Mercruiser. 78mph behind my 2002 Tahoe. Come on guys, someone had to be thinking the same thing.
With 21p prop, says 44mph on boat speedo, don't know rpm's cause most of the guages fluctuate badly.

2002 Cobalt with 8.1 GI 375hp DP with F6 props.

64 GPS with 4 people, tower and bimini deployed.

Might do a cam swap and headers to get to 70-75.

61 Crestliner 40 hp 84 Johnson with 30 gal gas in bow, 2 200 lbs adults, and hardtop. 21mph by gps, 23 with a good tail wind. But it uses a lot less fuel at 2/3 throttle, about 78 or 18 mph. It's set up for fishin 1 1/2 is what I usually want.

1979 Fiberform Wikiki (Spelling??) w/ 1984 Mariner 90hp inline 6.

Top speed with just me and a full tank was 42MPH GPS. Burning 11.5 GPH. Cruises nicely at 25-29 with a 60 mile range. Turning a 17P alluminum 3-blade prop.

Unknown brand 14 foot flat bottom hull with a step. Force 125, 12 X 21 stainless cleaver prop. Pilot and 15 galloms fuel 5900-6000RPM, 60 MPH. Looking to make a couple of modifications to try for 65.

Cougar Cub 10 foot tunnel hull. Six gallons fuel and regular sized battery. Chrysler 50 HP engine, bronze two blade racing prop 10 1/2 X 16, 5000 RPM, 45 MPH.

1971 Glastron V153 15 foot deep vee hull. Driver only, 12 gallons fuel, 90 HP Chrysler, 13 X 19 stainless prop, 5500 RPM, 45 MPH

16' Sea-Nymph V bottom with an '81 Evinrude 50, 29.4 gps best speed, normally 27-28 depending on current.

Have no idea - never GPS'd it. (speed is not an issue on the pontoon) But I'll check it this weekend.

Ultra rare Mercruiser 3.8 Liter v6 185 horse (MCM185 229 C.I.D.) 47 mph gps top speed (49 mph on flat day with little gas and passenger load, never have officially hit 50 ).

21' sea hunt center console ( a typical deep-V hull) 150 yam 2 stroke carb, painted bottom, no T top, 40-42. prop is 15 1/2 x 17.
I recently tested a hlaf dozen props and will post the results in props when I get around to typing it up.
I also figure my painted bottom cost me about 4 mph. My fat bottom maybe a couple more.

93 Stratos 285PRO XL 175 Johnson
65 mph (gps) with 40 gals of fuel and two guys weighting about 250 a piece.
73 mph (gps) with 15 gals of fuel with one person. Still had throttle left but got scared the boat was going to flip.
