how to install the miissing grease fitting Bravo, Alpha

locate the center of the pin ,can be done visually

Drill in 3/8 ths of an inch with a #3 drill bit for 1/4 x 28 thread and tap .

using a 3/64 drill bit CAREFULLY drill approx. 3/4 to 1 inch into the housing until the magnet picks up steel shavings.STOP DRILLING. Install grease fitting.inject grease until you see it between the steering yoke and transom.

can also use a 5/16ths nut

No, never there. probably to save ten cents. after about 2 -3 years corrosion tears the seal out and water starts leaking in by the steering lever.
This mod is best done before the leakage starts. If only slightly leaking a good shot of waterproof grease will stop the leak.

I imagine this has ramifications with warranties. Worth considering if you happen to have a warranty still. Probably worth holding off until it expires.
