Evinrude 35 lots of blue smoke and some white? bad idle

I have noticed that my 82 Evinrude 35hp 2 stroke has been smoking a lot of blue smoke, Is this normal? My fuel mix is 50:1. Could overheated plugs have anything to do with it? I have also noticed a little bit of white smoke and a rough idle.

Top compression was #104 bottom was #124

Blue smoke usually indicates oil burning, how confident are you on your fuel mixture? Two strokes will smoke a little bit, synthetic oils smoke less than your standard TCW-3 oils. Is this motor new to you or is it something that has just appeared?

Are you sure that the white is smoke ???? or steam ???
How is the compression ???

I use one of those things you pour the oil into and it says how many gallons and the different ratios so its a good mixture. I have had it for a while now im gonna post a vid today to show how it smokes and sounds..

Top cylinder is about 104psi bottom around 124psi. I will check out the white smoke again today.

Both good numbers but a little far apart in my opinion. Have you given it a decarb recently ???

No I havent. Heres a vid of it idling this morning after around 3 or 4min of warming up. When I first started it up it smoked a lot of blue and stalled a few times..

I would check the cylinder head gasket.

Sounds like a lean miss, have you cleaned and rebuilt the carb??? Ezeke, I was going to go for head gasket but the compression seems high for blown head gasket, although the PSI spread is quite large. How do the plugs look?? A clean plug will indicate water intrusion.

It was rebuilt around 5 or 6months ago.. It actually has a brand new head gasket..

Did you re-torque the cylinder head after running? If not, you should check the head gasket.

[Edit] Check it anyway.

What plugs are you running in it, just curious?

They aren't clean, do what Ezeke said and check the head bolts to start.
