Broad band is finally coming so I'm looking into long range wifi cameras. Long range in the wifi signal, not necessarily video.

Want it for outside only. Solar powered with some kind of storage and without a service. Like to be able to see on my phone and be able to review footage later if need be

Anyone use any of this kind of stuff?

Are you talking like offline mode? If that’s what you are thinking, a camera with AP mode will work.

I’ve got a couple Ampviz cameras set up for my sister in law in her cow barn. Barn is 120’ from the house and gets enough signal to work reliably. Any farther than 100 foot or so is really pushing it depending on equipment, otherwise you’ll need directional antennas. Ampviz does have solar cams as well and they use an app callled CamHipro

Prepare to spend time charging the units, also dogs will learn to associate the ping on your phone with something on camera in the yard and start to growl and bark when the phone pings.
