Hi everyone, picked up a 2004 Larson 210LXi.

Trying to figure out what engine is in it. Was told it was 5.0. It runs very well on water. I can't find any markings, but it does have a 4bbl Edelbrock. When would I 5.0 come with this carb? Could it actually be a 350?

3856270 Is a 5.0L Chevy marking, Carb would be "What ever "Volvo Used" not what GM supplied. GM was all EFI at that time, and LS series engines not Gen II SBC L05 5.0L V8.

In the 3rd photo I see the engine ID tag on the inside of the starboard valve cover. Adjacent to the PCV valve

I have the same intake on my '98 5.7 GSi engine, 3856270

Yep Volvo never used Edelbrock. Old days it was Rochester after 90 it was Holley.
Find the engine casting # on the bell housing area for your answer, Being that it has a non stock carb & aftermarket exhaust it’s anybody’s guess. Does appear to be a Vortec engine.

Could have been a 2-barrel

Holley was used on the higher HP motors thru the 80s. IE, the 260hp 5.7 motor got the Q-jets, the 271, 290 and 310hp motors got the Holleys

The 205hp 5.0 was Q-jets where the 230hp was Holley

It's just slightly odd because being an Edelbrock. It has new motor and drive, so if they went through all the trouble of pulling it, why not just go 5.7? But of course there are no identifiers to check.

Did the 5.0 ever come with a 4 barrel? Never was a fan of the Edelbrock on my old 4x4's on trails, but it did seem to run very well on boat.

I am inquiring out of ignorance, is that a marine carburetor, it may be the direction of the pic, but I don't see the bowl vent?

It's so hard to get back there and look. These are the only other castings I could find below cyl head. It for sure says 5.7LG but can't make out after that.IMG_1081.jpeg

Look closer to the flywheel housing for the casting number

I definitely tried, even with mirror and good headlamp. I just don't see any castings. The only two I saw was 880 on side of block and 5.7LG SGI right by coil mount, and both being port side.

Everything I can find with 880 and 5.7LG SGI tells me it's 96-02 5.7, factory roller cam, Vortec.

Considering I got this for so cheap thinking it's a plain 5.0, considering this a decent win.

Unless there is something missing shows it's a 5.0. But I guess with 5.7LG on the block is pretty point blank.
