1980 Baretta 140 mercruiser 3.0. My trim pump was leaking from one of the hoses. I replaced and refilled. Thought it was fixed. Still getting oil in the bilge. I noticed the vent hole next to the refill hole. I there suppose to be a screw in that hole? Maybe it is leaking there. Do I have to bleed the air out when I refil?

I replaced the barrell on one of my cylinders earlier this year and I remember there being a pretty specific process involved in correctly bleeding the system after changing a component. Maybe you had some air in there that burped some oil out through the vent hole.

I know on mine i had to raise and lower the drive about 8-10 times with the fill plug removed to purge the air out.<br />Do you have a manual for that setup?
